The Friends of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre Society support a community of environmentally responsible citizens with nature-based educational experiences, presentations, and workshops.
Our desire is to further position the Helen Schuler Nature Centre as a world-class facility that connects visitors and residents to the many benefits of the great outdoors. We want to facilitate interactive experiences and memorable moments, in addition to supporting the Nature Centre's growth in our community, through:
Supporting environmental education programs and special projects.
Enhancing the resources of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre.
Fostering the importance of nature.
Our Strategies:
We are a registered Canadian charity actively seeking grant and partnership opportunities for our current programs, projects, and initiatives for environmental education in Lethbridge.
We are proud to partner with a network of organizations to offer and support nature-based programming in our community.
We do not offset the capital and operational requirements of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. Instead we provide enhancements, for the benefit of the community, that would not otherwise be available.
Creating Change:
We are making the Nature Centre better! We have raised funds for diverse exhibit programs, capital improvements, volunteer conservation projects, and special events.
We are now fundraising for donations towards our Endowment Fund with CFLSA to provide long-term support to nature interpretation in Southern Alberta!
